Historic Rs. 629.8 Million Grand Jackpot Winner Celebrated in Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka’s history of development lotteries, marking its name in golden letters, the Kapruka lottery succeeded in producing a lucky winner of the country’s largest-ever grand jackpot prize worth Rs. 629,855,919.60 on 19.02.2026.

The event included the presentation of the cheque for this prize money, as well as the awarding of cheques to other super winners, including millionaires and multi-millionaire winners from various districts across the island who emerged through Development Lottery tickets. In addition, cheques and certificates were presented to the sales agents who sold the winning lottery tickets.

This event was held under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe. It was attended by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Development Lotteries Board, Attorney-at-Law Hemantha Swarnathilaka, Director Chanakya Liyanage, Director of the Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Scholarship Trust Fund, D.R.C. Jayawardena, Chairman of the National Cooperative Wholesale Establishment, Kosala Wilbawa, General Manager of the Development Lotteries Board, Anura Jayaratne, Deputy General Manager (Sales), Chanaka Dodangoda, Deputy General Manager (Finance), Kasun Jayasuriya, and several other distinguished participants.
